General HVAC in offices, hotels and other buildings
Air quality in offices, hotels and other buildings is becoming more critical every day. This is the air people are working, recreating and living in. To stay healthy and fresh, clean air is of most importance. Therefore, every building these days is equipped with a centralized ventilation system. This system makes sure to clean the air coming in from outside and keep the harmful particles, fine dust and gaseous contaminations out.
Why to use activated carbon filters in the General HVAC?
In cities and business parks the air can be filled with all kinds of pollution, which can be harmful for people’s health when they are breathing in this fumes for a long period of time. Harmful gaseous contaminations are emitted by cars, production facilities of neighbouring companies, and many more! Every building has its own central ventilation
system, which ensures that fresh air is being supplied inside the building. However, if this air is contaminated, the air which people are living/working in is also contaminated.
How do these activated carbon filters work?
Every central ventilation system is equipped with particle filters to make sure fine dust is not present in the air inside the building. However, these gas molecules are too small to be caught by the finest particle filters, like HEPA. For this we must use the activated carbon filters which remove the gas molecules by means of adsorption. For this method of filtration activated carbon is generally used. Perforated cylindrical cartridges are filled with activated carbon. Air passes through the filter and the gasses stick to the surface of the carbon
